A Party Without a Broken Dish? No Way
It seems like every time I throw a dinner party, at least one dish gets broken. If I’m lucky it’s a wine glass; if I’m unlucky, it’s a plate or bowl. Why do I think a wine glass breaking is a lot better than a plate or bowl breaking? Because I know that I can go into any discount store and buy those wineglasses. In fact, I can get a set of four replacement wineglasses for $9.99 a box. If I want to replace one plate, I know that it’s going to cost me at least $20, and be a big pain to do so.
If you want to replace your china, make sure that you register it with the company that you bought it from. For example I’ve registered my china, so if anything happens, for example the company discontinues the pattern, I can stock up on pieces before they are hard to find. When you originally bought the china, you’ll probably find that it came with a postcard, or Internet address where you can register pattern at.
Maybe you discover that you need replacement china. I have always had a lot of luck looking on eBay. The benefit of eBay is that you can get replacement china Lenox pieces, and you only have to buy the pieces that you need. If I break a plate, I can get a plate. I’ve never really had any problems, because I made sure that my shipment is insured, so if it gets dropped by the post man, I can get it replaced.
Sometimes it’s very difficult to find the right pieces if you have very trendy set that isn’t so trendy anymore. With china, sometimes it pays off to purchase a well known brand that will be around for years to come.
